Digital Building - Lancaster Castle

This piece is based on the history of Lancaster Castle. The different periods of its life are represented by a fixed media audio piece comprising of five sections.

• War pre 16th century
• Construction
• Dungeons and witches
• World War I

The piece is composed using field recordings of various building tools (hammers, drills etc) I have recorded apart from two audio files.

The audio interacts (manipulates various parameters) with five DIP3v2 objects i have built using Quartz Composer and DIPS3v2 'DQCRenderer' object. FFT analysis of the audio affects the DIPS3v2 objects in real time so the performance will be different each time.

The five Quartz Compositions are mixed together during the performance using DIPS3v2 DIPSWindowMixer object and the audio will be diffused through an array of 10 speakers.
